The Memorial for the First Battle of Bull Run is located behind the reconstructed Henry House which served as a field hospital during the battle. The owner of the house, Judith Carter Henry, was mortally wounded by artillery fire and was the only civilian killed during the first battle. The monument was built by Union soldiers in "Memory of the Patriots who fell at Bull Run."
