Black and White photography has a "mood" unlike color photography. The contrast between the deep blacks, the shades of grey, and the intensity of white almost is a language of the photographer for the viewer. Ansel Adams devised the Zone system for B&W imagery.

This is the wall between the USA and Mexico to stop the illegal entry of persons into the United States of America. It consists of 2 fences with a safety service road in between. There is no barbed wire, and it is intended to make people who want to enter the U.S. to go to the gates, show identification, and enter properly. Besides the obvious Mexicans, persons from almost every country have been caught trying to enter here. For example people from Central and South America, China, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, and Africa have been detained here trying to enter illegally.

Michael Minardi was the first living photographer to be commissioned to produce a complete Exhibit of his photography for the museum. This special Exhibit required 2.5 years of photography plus 6 months of computer work. The photographs record Florida's historic buildings, sporting events, tourist attractions, industry and agriculture. Mr. Minardi initially takes a 35 mm slide of a scene and then reproduces the slide by means of a computer that uses laser light sources and computer control programs. The process allows him to manipulate the colors of the photograph, thereby creating whimsical, dynamic or unnatural images. By changing the images color scheme, he alters our understanding of the scene represented. The computer becomes another tool for creative expression. Minardi relates his use of the camera and film to a painter's paintbrush and palette, explaining, "I paint with light."
